Derived from racing technology developed in the early 1970s, turbo charging came to Porsche road cars in 1975. At the same time, the "Whale Tail" spoiler was introduced on the now infamous 911/930 turbo Carrera with the very first being a 70th birthday gift to the founder's sister. This respect for family values and nod to nature as an inspiration for design is where our name comes from.
